Holy f*cking RaMMMMMMMsTeiN!!!!!!

Attention fellow bloggers:

I have been changed forever. I have been marked by the devil that is RAMMSTEIN!!!!! They now have my soul. But fear not, there was no struggle. I gave it willingly lol.

I finally got to see the legends themselves LIVE.. And OMFG they did not disappoint. That was by far the greatest show I have ever seen!!! 

Now, while we don’t get international live acts a plenty here in SA.. I have seen a good deal e.g. Metallica.. They were my fav live act for years and no one not Korn not Muse (sorry Yumz!) not Lenny Kravitz not The Offspring not The Killers, not anyone else could sway me.. That is, until this now legendary Wed eve of Feb 9th 2011 when Rammstein blew my mind farther than anyone has ever blown my mind before. I am still gathering the pieces. I bow down to them. They own me now!!

Anyone who was present to experience will understand why. That was far beyond anything I have ever seen, like nothing I have ever experienced. It was like all my previous concert feelings at once.. on steroids! Lol. I actually fear the concerts to follow this one.. Cos I have a feeling that nothing will compare to this epic night.

Being that close to the danger.. Those flames.. Nearly losing my hair and being burnt alive (I am not even exaggerating.. okay maybe a little lol). Explosions everywhere! That was F*CKING INSANE!!! MindGasmly EpicaLLy LegeNDarily iNSaNe!!!! I can’t even begin to explain; I can only wish you were all there to understand. I know these people do!

 Until you are able to, here’s my Rammstein experience in a nutshell. Doors were scheduled to open at 7pm but I was there from about 4.30pm waiting in line! There was a bit of a delay due to technical difficulties so the doors probably only opened around 8pm for all I know.. I didn’t care, I knew they would be worth the wait haha.. 

Doors open.. And people start running!! And when I say people I mean me too haha. Nice to know I still remember how to run lol. Found ourselves an awesome spot right in front and middle. Then we wait.. And wait.. Until the curtains drop.. I scream as I stare at the German flag! The flag drops! and I go MENTAL!!!!!! Explosion! Like, completely LOSING IT now. I am standing right in front of Mr. Lindemann himself!!!!! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!! My brain on overload.. I am staring straight at TILL F*CKING LINDEMANN in his awesomeness.

(I wanna scream just reliving it!! Must hold back……….. Don’t wanna alarm anyone! In public, compose yourself woman)

 

The set looked awesome, gritty and industrial. They’re all dirty and sweaty and grimey and f*cked up and all round f*cking awesome!! Hence adding to my mind loss. I was definitely not able to hold my composure with the man the legend standing right in front of me. See the pic below. That was my direct view, that’s where I was standing! Yes.. RIGHT THERE!!!

Do you see the flames on the sides(above pic)? That’s nothing, there were flamethrowers in front of the stage as well (see pic below lol). I was really worried (before the actual concert) that I wouldn’t have the full Rammstein experience. Because of it being indoors, I wasn't sure if the arena would allow their famed pyrotechnics. I am amped to say worried in vain!!! Instead I was close to being burnt alive!!!! Alive I say!!! Glad I still have all my hair.. Though, I came to a point of acceptance during the show. If it did all get burned off I would be able to live with it, because it would have been worth it hahahahaha.

BOOM!! 

Need proof of the heat? A friend that was in the back/general standing said HE could feel the heat of the flames (whenever it went up) from way back there; he couldn’t imagine how it must have felt for us in the front row.. Seriously, I baked. 

There was even a stage where we had to DUCK because it got so intense. Everyone in front instinctively ducked behind the barricade. The pictures prove it. See the flames.. That happened all the time but there was a moment in the show where it stayed up and..

 

…..see me duck! Blooper pic, I was aiming for the stage but instinct took over and phone reacted as I hid.. At least there's photo-evidence! Ducking behind the rails.. lol. Not that it would have protected me much had the flames been directed AT me that fencing wouldn’t have done sh!t. I would have been toasted! Bwahahahahahaha!! All in the name of Rammstein and I wonder if I would even have cared. Euphoria!

Aside from the pretty burning, their stage presence.. If they weren’t wilding out on stage they seemed demonic and possessed. I enjoyed watching Lindemann come out covered in blood. With a mic attached to a butchers knife! And then watch him cook his fellow band mate in a giant pot with a flamethrower lol (sorry no photo evidence here, was too busy enjoying the show)! 

Ahhh gotta love flamethrowers. Flamethrowers on their arms, flamethrowers attached to their mouths, flame shooters on stage, in front of stage.. explosions above.. explosions on stage.. explosions everywhere! You never knew what was coming up next.. Sheer ecstasy!

For future Rammstein concert attendees, this isn’t just another live concert experience.. It will change your life. It will make you abandon all fear. You will feel alive. You will feel new. You choose the dark side.. Always!
